ABOUT PRURIGO NODULARIS
Prurigo nodularis (PN) is an uncommon, chronic inflammatory skin disease that primarily affects adults. PN is characterized by:
- Extreme itchiness that leads to frequent scratching
- Symmetrically distributed rashes
- Symptoms worsened by sweat, heat, clothing, and stress
PN typically appears on the extremities, the upper back and/or the abdomen. It commonly occurs in episodes but can be continuous and is chronic, lasting longer than 6 weeks.
