ABOUT PRURIGO NODULARIS

Prurigo nodularis (PN) is an uncommon, chronic inflammatory skin disease that primarily affects adults. PN is characterized by:

  • Extreme itchiness that leads to frequent scratching
  • Symmetrically distributed rashes
  • Symptoms worsened by sweat, heat, clothing, and stress

PN typically appears on the extremities, the upper back and/or the abdomen. It commonly occurs in episodes but can be continuous and is chronic, lasting longer than 6 weeks.
